4.3 Board of Management
4.3 Board of Management
The functions of the Board of Management are, on behalf of the Senior Executive Conference, to:
- Ensure that the ongoing management of the Service is in accord with the agreed strategic focus and direction;
- Support and facilitate the role of the Senior Executive Conference in setting the strategic focus and direction of the Service;
- Assist the Commissioner in the ongoing management of the Service, with particular respect to:
- Operational issues;
- Human resource management issues;
- Information management issues;
- Budget and financial resource management issues; and
- Physical resource management issues.
- Ensure that ongoing management is responsive to changing circumstances, and that appropriate, timely action is taken in relation to management issues;
- Identify issues relating to the strategic management of the Service that should be referred to the Senior Executive Conference;
- Ensure that the Service fulfils its obligations in respect of all management standards and requirements, such as reporting timelines of the annual budget cycle; and
- Ensure that comment by Senior Executive Conference members is secured 'out of session' where required.
Meetings of the Board of Management are held monthly.
Membership of the Board of Management consists of:
- Commissioner;
- Deputy Commissioner (Specialist Operations);
- Deputy Commissioner (Regional Operations);
- Deputy Chief Executive (Resource Management); and
- Two Assistant Commissioners - appointments for twelve months
- Director, Office of the Commissioner
