4.4 Deputy Commissioners and Deputy Chief Executive

There are two Deputy Commissioner positions within the Service, the Deputy Commissioner (Specialist Operations) and the Deputy Commissioner (Regional Operations).  There is one Deputy Chief Executive position responsible for Resource Management.

Deputy Commissioner (Specialist Operations)

The Deputy Commissioner (Specialist Operations) is responsible for the provision of specialist police services including Ethical Standards, State Crime Operations and Operations Support Commands.

Deputy Commissioner (Regional Operations)

The Deputy Commissioner (Regional Operations) is responsible for the provision of effective police operations from the eight police regions state-wide.

Deputy Chief Executive (Resource Management)

This position was created by Executive Council under the provision of the then Public Service Management and Employment Act 1988.  The Deputy Chief Executive is responsible for:

  • Human Resources;
  • Finance;
  • Administration; and
  • Information and Communications Technology
