Operational Plans

The Operational Plan is derived from the strategic plan and is focused on answering the question ‘How will we do it?’  The Operational Plan describes in greater detail the services and service standards that support delivery of the QPS objectives.  The QPS Operational Plan 2011-2012 is in effect from 1 July 2011 to 30 June 2012.

Report of Government Services

This national report is published annually.  It covers core public sector service areas, including policing, for all Australian jurisdictions. The performance information it contains is intended to help governments improve the effectiveness and efficiency of expenditure on education, health, justice and community services. The report facilitates an informed debate about comparative performance.

Data from the National Survey of Community Satisfaction with Police is included in this report.

The Queensland Police Service (QPS) Domestic and Family Violence Strategy 2009 - 2013



Provides guidelines for the development and enhancement of services responsive to the needs of individuals and families experiencing and affected by domestic and family violence.

The Strategy has been developed ensuring consistency with the Queensland Government “For our sons and daughters” Strategy to reduce domestic and family violence 2009 – 2014 and the Australasian Policing Strategy 2008.

The QPS Domestic and Family Violence Strategy has been developed through internal and external consultation and clearly identifies our continued commitment to provide a high standard of policing services for the Queensland community.

The Queensland Government has committed itself to the achievement of high ethical standards for all public service agencies and public officals.  As part of whole-of-government integrity reforms, the Queensland Government introduced a single Code of Conduct for the Queensland Public Service (effective 1 January 2011), and all members of the QPS are bound by provisions of the Code.

Queensland Police Service Standard of Practice

The purpose of the QPS Standard of Practice is to provide all members of the QPS with a set of guiding principles and standards to assist them to determine acceptable standards of conduct.  It should be read in conjuction with the Code of Conduct for the Queensland Public Service.
