The Minister for Police and Corrective Services has approved a reward of $250,000 be offered for information which leads to the apprehension and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the murder of Lorraine Ruth WILSON and Wendy Joy EVANS.
INDEMNITY FROM PROSECUTION:
In addition, an appropriate indemnity from prosecution will be recommended for any accomplice, not being the person who actually committed the crime, who first gives such information.
The allocation of the $250,000 reward will be at the sole discretion of the Commissioner of the Police Service.
Both girls were last seen alive at Camp Hill, Brisbane, on 6 October 1974. Their skeletal remains were located on the afternoon of 25 June 1976, in a paddock in bush country off Murphy's Creek Road, an old by-pass to Toowoomba, approximately 96km from Brisbane. A post-mortem examination disclosed that death in both instances resulted from multiple skull fractures.
