Red Light Cameras
Red Light Cameras are tested in compliance with manufacturer’s specifications in accordance with legislative requirements annually.
The Queensland Police Service carries out annual servicing on all speed camera equipment and calibrates each device to ensure they produce accurate results in accordance with legislative requirements. The Calibration Laboratory is accredited by the National Association of Testing Authorities Australia ensuring all calibration conducted conforms to the National Measurement Act.
I do not believe the speed indicated on the Infringement Notice is correct?
Speed camera equipment used in speed camera deployments are set up in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications and guidelines. The equipment is tested and operated in compliance with legislation and must be found to produce accurate results prior to deployment.
Mobile speed camera operators test the photographic detection device prior to, during and after deployment to ensure the device is operating correctly. Each device is certified and the calibration date is recorded on the device.
