Weapons Licensing is working with the Ministerial Weapons Advisory Panel on a number of strategies to cut red tape and improve processing times. One of the strategies endorsed by the Panel is for applicants to contact their local club or dealer for assistance in completing their Weapons Licence Applications.
This will reduce the number of incomplete applications currently received at Weapons Licensing impacting on processing and turnaround times.
A number of information sessions were hosted around the state for clubs and dealers who are willing to participate in this strategy. Clubs and Dealers who were unable to attend the information sessions are still welcome to participate and can contact Weapons Licensing for further information.
An information pack was distributed at the information sessions to enable clubs and dealers to assist applicants on how to complete their online application and provide the documentation required for the relevant genuine reasons.
This information pack is now available for you to download and as a result of the information sessions a list of Questions and Answers is currently being developed to further assist you. It is advisable that you refer to our website for the most recent version which will include any new updates.
This initiative will commence on Monday 17 February 2014.
