​​This licence may only be issued for a Category E (bulletproof vest or body armour) or Category M weapons (including crossbows, some martial arts weapons and some historical or military weapons).

Applicants wishing to possess crossbows for Sports or Target shooting, Recreational shooting or Historical or Military Re-enactment should apply for this type of licence.

Note: Section 41 of the Weapons Regulation 2016 stipulates which Category M weapons can be licensed:

A holder of a Miscellaneous Licence must take reasonable precautions to ensure that weapons under the licence are not accessible to persons who are not lawfully entitled to physically possess the weapons.​
