Were you unsuccessful in your application for accreditation for the Commonwealth Games? GOLDOC is the responsible authority for approving and issuing accreditation to persons requiring access into restricted areas within the Commonwealth Games. The Commonwealth Games Group (QPS) Accreditation will provide a recommendation of suitability to GOLDOC. This recommendation is based on background checking of QPS criminal and intelligence holdings and with those of our partner agencies, including: Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission, and the Attorney Generals Department. Background checking processes consider safety, security, and reputational information, as well as both criminal and intelligence history before advice is provided to GOLDOC to inform their decision. The details of the considerations by the QPS is not generally shared with GOLDOC. The QPS recommendation is made in the environment of the role an applicant may undertake within the Commonwealth Games. In reaching employment decisions, GOLDOC takes into consideration a number of factors including existing subscription levels for employment, and relevant information received from the external checking partners, including the QPS. IMPORTANT: Please note that not all applicants are rejected due to suitability reasons. GOLDOC received in excess of 47,000 applications with a total of 15,000 positions offered to the general public. Therefore, your application for accreditation may have been unsuccessful simply due to the fact the workforce was oversubscribed. For further information on the application process, please go to Apply for Information or visit the OIC website. |
