ThinkUKnow

The ThinkUKnow Program began in 2009 and is an Australian Federal Police (AFP) evidence-based internet safety program.

The Queensland Police Service (QPS) is a ThinkUKnow Program partner agency and is committed to supporting the implementation of the ThinkUKnow Cyber Safety Program within Queensland.

The program delivers interactive training to parents, carers, teachers and children through schools and organisations using a network of accredited trainers from partner agencies.

The program is delivered Australia-wide in collaboration with all state and territory police services.

ThinkUKnow has two components:

Adult presentations

Adult presentations are designed for parents, carers and teachers and are available for schools, community groups, and organisations across Australia.

Delivered by QPS personnel and volunteers from program industry partners (Microsoft, Datacom and Commonwealth Bank), adult presentations provide information that is accurate, relevant and actionable.

The presentations will generally run for 60 minutes, but it is recommended to allow 90 minutes with question time.

Youth presentations

In 2014, the AFP expanded ThinkUKnow to include the Schools Cyber Safety Program. This program educates students from Years 5-12 about safe and responsible use of technology.

The program is in line with national curriculum standards. Youth presentations are delivered only by sworn QPS members in Queensland.

How are ThinkUKnow presentations booked?

Schools and community groups can book both adult and youth presentations through the ThinkUKnow website at www.thinkuknow.org.au.
