Renew a Weapons Act Licence

To renew your Queensland Weapons Act Licence you need to:

  1. Have a Queensland Weapons Licence due to expire
  2. Continue to meet the personal eligibility requirements

    IMPORTANT: 
    New laws are being introduced that may impact your eligibility to apply for or to hold a Weapons Licence under the Weapons Act 1990 (Qld).

  3. Have a genuine reason to hold a licence
    • You are required to notify us within 14 days of any change to your circumstances. For more information see Changing my circumstances.
  4. Have access to secure storage facilities
  5. Be able to supply the supporting documentation (if required) relevant to the genuine reason and licence type selected in your application. The supporting documentation you need to supply with your application will depend on your genuine reason and licence class. To find a form, please visit the Forms Library
  6. Be able to pay the required fees
