- Firearm Prohibition Orders – notifying Commissioner of Police of change of address
The Firearm Prohibition Order (FPO) scheme was introduced under the Queensland Community Safety Act 2024. Recent amendments under the Fighting Antisemitism and Keeping Guns out of the Hand of Terrorists and Criminals Amendment Bill 2026 came into effect on 1 July 2026.
If a Firearm Prohibition Order is issued against you, you must give written notice of the change of address within 7 days. [This is required under section 141ZB – Notifying Commissioner of change of address (Weapons Act 1990 Qld)]
