Group Licence – Occupational (Cat A, B, C, D, E, H & M)
You have chosen to apply for a Group Licence – Occupational (Cat A, B, C, D, E, H & M). This licence can be issued to a person or a group to satisfy an occupational need. An occupational need to possess a weapon may involve activities not limited to professions within local authorities (e.g. councils), pastoral companies, feedlots, abattoirs or zoological parks. Depending on your group’s requirements, this licence can provide the same authority as firearms licence, a firearms licence (instructor), a concealable firearms licence or a miscellaneous weapons licence. To apply for a Group Licence – Occupational, you will need to provide the following:
- Proof of address (Queensland Drivers Licence, rates notice or electricity bill).
- Your statement of attainment from an approved firearms safety training course.
- A letter on organisation letterhead containing:
- The name and position of the author
- Authorisation for you to represent the organisation for this application
- Details of the activities for which weapons are needed
- The reasons why weapons are needed.
- A copy of the registered business or company name certificate. This must include details of the type of enterprise (e.g. sole proprietor/partnership) and details of the office holders of the business. If the licence is for a shooting gallery, please provide the shooting gallery approval number.
- Details of the storage facility where weapons are to be stored, and how it complies with legislation.
- A current passport-quality photograph.
