Domestic, Family Violence and Community Engagement Group

The Domestic, Family Violence and Community Engagement Group (DFVCEG) is dedicated to creating safer communities across Queensland. We achieve this by providing strategic leadership, fostering meaningful partnerships, and driving continuous improvement across the Queensland Police Service. Through innovation, collaboration, and evidence-based approaches, we aim to enhance community safety, support vulnerable individuals, and improve policing outcomes for all Queenslanders.

Our Role

The DFVCEG integrates five key business areas—Vulnerable Persons Group, Community Safety, Strategic Performance, Organisational Performance, and Operational Policy and Improvement—to deliver strategic leadership across a wide range of policing priorities.

Our work focuses on:

• Driving strategic initiatives to enhance organisational responses to domestic and family violence.
• Advancing strategic priorities focused on improving outcomes for vulnerable individuals.
• Leading the development of crime prevention and community engagement initiatives, including direct engagement from QPS Police and Police Liaision officers in community programs.
• Strengthening organisational capability and performance to support high-quality policing outcomes.
• Shaping operational policy to support organisational priorities.
• Delivering research and evidence-based solutions to improve policing capability.

We collaborate closely with government agencies, community organisations, and other partners to build safer, more connected, and resilient communities across Queensland.
