Legal Services

QPS Legal Services operates within the Office of the General Counsel and provides legal support across the organisation on a wide range of corporate and operational matters. This includes contractual arrangements, civil disputes, statutory interpretation, information management and disclosure, procurement, and partnership arrangements.

Legal Services plays a vital role in supporting the organisation by providing timely and accurate legal advice on complex issues such as discipline, human rights, discrimination, regulatory compliance and emerging legal matters. This supports informed organisational and executive decision-making.

Legal Services also manages and supports legal proceedings and claims involving the Service, including coronial matters, judicial review and appeal processes, and WorkCover and civil litigation claims, in collaboration with external legal providers where required.
