Applicant details

Queensland residency:

You must provide proof of your residency. Acceptable documents include a copy of your current Queensland Drivers Licence, or a copy of a rates notice or gas/electricity account not more than 12 months old.

If you are not a Queensland resident:

If you are not a Queensland resident, but intending to become one soon, ensure that you supply your proof of Queensland residency to Weapons Licensing, quoting your application reference number as soon as possible.

Interstate residents who live close to the Queensland border should contact Weapons Licensing about their eligibility.

If you are not an Australian citizen:

You will need to provide a copy of your current visa with your application. If a visa has not been issued for your entry into Australia (e.g. New Zealand citizen) you may provide a Statutory Declaration stating your previous criminal history and medical history that may be relevant to your weapons licence application. Note: If you have a temporary work/study visa, any licence issued to you will only be for the duration of your visa).

Former name:

Record any previous names you have had in the “Former Name(s)” field.

You will need to provide evidence to support your name change(s). Suitable evidence may include marriage certificates, change of name documentation, etc.

Name / Lot on Plan:

This information can be found on your rates notice if required.

Entering a unit or apartment number in your residential address:

Your unit number should be entered in the “Name/Lot on Plan” field. Complete your remaining address information in the relevant fields.
