If you are physically injured we recommend that you attend your local hospital and present for treatment. If you are significantly injured, please call ‘000’ and request an ambulance.

Often a concern of being sexually assaulted or raped is unwanted pregnancy or getting a sexually transmitted disease (STD). Queensland Health provide confidential medical care and STD testing.

You may also find it hard to cope with the trauma emotionally. Counselling and psychological support is available. Options available include -

• Contacting your local GP or medical centre,
• Call 13 HEALTH for localised information in your area,
• State wide sexual assault helpline 1800 010 120
• Sexual assault and domestic violence support 1800 RESPECT (1800 737 732) which is available 24 hours.
